This single cask #1861 of Highland Park was distilled on March 23, 2006. It was bottled at 19 years of age.
In 2004, Highland Park decided that all future distillation would be matured in 100% first-fill Oloroso sherry casks, which would become a signature feature of the spirit. Only a tiny handful of exceptions were made, including this American ex-bourbon cask.
Once filled, the cask was acquired by Ian Macleod Distillers, and was matured in a mainland warehouse, extremely atypical for Highland Park. There it was forgotten for many years before being discovered, rescued, and making its way into the hands of Society Obscura, and ultimately to you.
Every bottle is hand tied in a limited-edition silk furoshiki designed by artist Tim McDonagh.
